What can I say other than Palermo’s food scene is way under the radar from the masses. I don’t mind that. I can get a reservation with no hassle at Michelin star restaurants like Osteria del Vespri and Bebop. I tend to go with the chef’s 5 or 7 course tasting menu with wine pairings. At prices around 70 Euro’s per person who wouldn’t. You can do a la carte but why? These dinners would cost double or triple in cities like New York, London or even Rome. Fresh Sicilian ingredients, seafood and what’s in season is how both these exceptional restaurants operate. Nothing less and I wouldn’t have it any other way. This is why I love Sicily’s food scene and can’t get enough of it.
