This was a hard pill to swallow. Trying to narrow down my top 5 for Palermo. I think I have this in the bag. You can literally eat your way through Palermo and explore for a week and still not get outside of a 5 block radius. CATTEDRALE DI PALERMO & CHURCH OF SANTA CATERINA D’ALESSANDRIA
Both of these church’s are in the historic district and are in easy walking distance from each other and the central train station. Depending on how much you want to explore each location, there’s a small entrance fee of around 5-8 euros to enter. It’s worth it. Your camera will thank you!
The history and sheer size of each is impressive. The paintings, murals and statues are never ending and you can literally view for hours on end. If history is your thing, then definitely make a stop at both locations. Pay a few extra dollars at Santa Caterina D’Alessandria and head to the rooftop for a top notch view over Palermo.
